It was time. Mostly out of laziness, partly out of rather spending money on fabric, I haven't had a change in my do for a really long time. The plan was to chop a whole bunch off, but that sweet talkin' gal with the sheers did this instead:
I still pass by a mirror and wonder who that is, I haven't had bangs for ages, and I haven't done my hair straight for probably a year or more. Like I said, mostly laziness.
I brought with me a most delightful companion. She sat there the whole time, devouring three fashion magazines, and had to show me every other page full of crazy hair-dos, colorful make-up, and fancy clothes.Plus, she did her own hair. What a cutie. We don't spend much one-on-one time now that she's a school girl.
So we stopped to get her any frozen concoction her little freckled face desired.
She ate every last drop and kept looking at me with surprised eyes exclaiming, "I keep forgetting what you look like!"I think that was my favorite part.
Still getting used to the bangs. Mostly loving them. Ryan even asked if I had my hair colored. Nope. Just chopped off a bunch of natural highlights I guess.
Sure glad I took along this little side kick.
You look lovely. And your daughter is a sweet pea.
ReplyDeleteLove your new look!!! and it is sooo nice to get in that one on one time..i know how hard that can be sometimes!!!
ReplyDeleteYay! It looks gorgeous. I asked my MIL for money for Christmas to go toward getting my hair done. It's been over a year for me too. Babies and kids and life will do that to ya.
ReplyDeleteThe bangs. So brave. It looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteSimple but chic. I just went back to bangs after 30 some years. I think it softens my 'maturing' face but seems more grown up at the same time.
ReplyDeleteUp here in the cold snowy north though I do find that bangs and hats are not always a good combination.
the bangs look great!!! i love your hair straight too, really pretty!!
ReplyDeleteoooohhh! love! i cut bangs back in january and it makes me feel cool or something :D love it!
ReplyDeletegorgeous! you look radiant. I love your natural hair color. love the pics of your sweet little sidekick.....what a freckled cutie. I may be partial because of my freckled past. lol
ReplyDeleteher headband is adorable. I'm going to go poke through the site to see if there is a post on how to make one like it. it's time for me to start making flower headbands for my Clover and Violet
aaaa....I just hate change:( now you look like a whole new person.I will grow to like your new style, I'm sure, but for now I am comming back to check how you look again and again, just like Azure. Wonder how other girls like your new do?:)(meaning, your kiddos)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks awesome! so classic! I've been toying with getting a fringe again for ages, but can't seem to decide :)x
ReplyDeleteThere's an amazing feeling in getting your hair cut -- you feel beautiful all day and your hair feels so clean and light...looks like you're enjoying it...
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your kind words! You're all so kind.
ReplyDeletehaha, wool, you're as bad as I am! If it helps, I don't plan to change my profile picture ;)
oo la la! I love it! You can totally rock the bangs, and I love it straight!!
ReplyDeleteyou're both cute as can be!
ReplyDeleteLove the bangs, and your daughter is SUCH a cutie!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I got talked not bangs a couple of months ago by my stylist. It took weeks to get used to my reflection but I love it!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is great. Love that cute little freckles. I have a freckle girl the same age!

I love how people stop and tell her they love her freckles! I hope she will always love them too. Same goes to your pretty girl. How nice to spend time with just one!
Ooh, I love the bangs! And the new length is really cute. Last night in desperation I trimmed my curly bangs. Today I'm after the rest of it. I can't wait. Thanks for the reminder that a haircut can make all the difference! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic! (but to be honest...you always do :)
ReplyDeletelooks fabulous! I gave myself bangs about a year ago, and I loved it. Made me feel very stylish, even though stylish is something I certainly am not.
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs! I think you get a laziness pass since you have 6 kiddos :)
ReplyDeleteLove the new do! Fringe suits you.
ReplyDeleteLove your new hair cut(!) and your excuses for not getting a hair cut sound a lot like mine. I'm totally due for one. :) Last night I dreamed I had bangs too. Love the picture of you two with your straightened hair blowing around.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I think they make your eyes look brighter and more blue.
ReplyDeleteI like your bangs. :o)
ReplyDeleteClover's photo with the magazin in front of her face or with the papercup and closed eyes... those could be postcards :o)
Love the new cut!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Bangs look good on you! It's a whole new aesthetic--one that terrifies me. I can't even get over the cuteness of Azure and if I were to pick a Dill favorite, hypothetically, she's mine!
ReplyDeleteKaty,
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs! I love hair posts, too!
Love the new do! I'm not good at change, but it is so nice to have a little pampering and walk away feeling refreshed.
ReplyDeleteI like the bangs! They are super cute on you. I tried them last year and looked like a 12 year old! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, you look younger! Great look!
ReplyDeletelooks great and azure is too precious!! i tried to chop my hair off after nohemi was born, and my wise stylist told me it would be too much work. bobby pins and headbands work for day 2 bangs. or shampoo JUST your bangs. that's my best tip! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new look! Bangs are very becoming on you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice side kick for the day-could you ask for anything better?
Beautiful both with and without the bangs! (but I think bangs are fun!) :-)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! Not that you weren't before, but a change is always fun. And you so don't look like the mother of six! Your companion is just a darling!
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs and the side-kick! I had a friend tell me recently that bangs are her botox.
ReplyDeleteYou look great with bangs! You look a lot like your mother with the bangs - and I do mean that as a big compliment! What a fun day.
ReplyDeleteOoops, I meant Azure, of course... sorry, I was too tired to focus (sometimes it's enough to write good enough English :) )
ReplyDeleteLove the bangs! You look great!
ReplyDeletelooks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the mother-daughter date part, I try to do that at least once a month with my older daughter.
i love the bangs on you! bangs are fun every so often - so easy to grow out once you get tired of them, too. i think you look like a young jane seymour (who i think is gorgeous!). :)
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful and what a lovely moment! thanks for sharing it with us
ReplyDeleteGot to get used to calling them bangs but they look great on you!!! Super stylin'. That Azure is a little gem.
ReplyDeleteI recently went with the bangs as well. It's amazing how much a little change can perk you up, huh?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your inner beauty that shines through your blog also..!
Katy! You look gorgeous! Va-va-voom. :)
ReplyDeleteAzure is seriously adorable too. That is so cute that you had a fun mother daughter afternoon together. Taking my Reid to the salon with me is only because of necessity and requires a lot of candy bribes. Hopefully my girl will appreciate it more one day too. :)
Pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour new haircut is fabulous. You look so pretty with bangs.
ReplyDeletecute! love them Katy
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs. I recently cut mine and I was doing double takes for the first few days. Your side kick is adorable and is so happy to have some special time with Mom. So cute!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and your little one had a fantastic day and the bangs look great!
ReplyDeleteKaty, I was just about to email you for a pic....and then I checked your blog. Did you know you have 2652 people that subscribe?! Wowza!!!
