I haven’t done near the amount of sewing for this baby that I thought I would. In fact, I haven’t done any. Part of it is that we aren’t finding out what we’re having, and part of it is that with baby number six, there are only a few things I consider essential: diapers, onesies, and blankets. I’ve gone through my fair share of blankets and I definitely have my favorite: the knit blanket. I love how I can swaddle my babies, stretching the knit blankets tightly those first few months. Many of mine are pink, or other girly colors, so I decided to make a gender neutral blanket…just in case ;)
I am sharing the tutorial over at Handmade Baby Clothes with Erin. She is hosting a series: "Not Gonna Find Out" Neutral Baby Sewing Series, as she is also expecting and waiting to find out what she's having!

Lastly, but most importantly, if you are the praying sort, please offer prayers on behalf of my 6 year old niece, Lucy, who was bitten on her legs by a shark yesterday. She has gone through one round of surgery with more to come Thursday or Friday.
Lucy was bit by a shark? I am dying.
ReplyDeleteYour darling niece is in my prayers. Sending LOVE and STRENGTH from the other side of the Atlantic
ReplyDelete(eek.. probaby not appropriate comment given the shark-relared-seriousness but)
ReplyDeleteSQUEE!! <3 I'm also expecting and waiting to find out the gender ('m due on SATURDAY!! YEYYYY!!) It's my first though, not my 6th :-) I feel very proud of the fact that I've stuck to the essentialls for my squiggle, although we have been given a boatload of boy's clothes... which it will be wearing, penis or no penis hahaha

ReplyDeleteOh, that's awful!!! Praying for her and her family. Poor little girl.
ReplyDeleteSo, you didn't say anything about your little Hazel being there. That was your Hazel that your sister mentioned, yes? How is she doing? That must have been horrible scary for her, as well. The questions, the fear your little one must befeeling, as well. I am so, so glad to hear that your niece is doing well and I wish everyone a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteCrafts For My Critter-Hazel is my sister's daughter. Yes, she was there and my sister said there were lots of questions from all the kids, but they took the time to make sure everyone understood and had their questions answered.
