Itty Bitty Squishies

My orange projects are under way, with 4 orange spray paint cans emptied and other orange projects in the works!

But mostly the weekend drew me to this:
We took a morning walk with our oldest baby dill.  How she is grown!  I especially love Ryan's straight from bed hair silhouette.
Something to do with the tide spotted the shore with lots of squishies.

And this giant red fish.  I inquired of a man who inspected this what kind of fish it was and he filled me in on laws of fish catching and throwing them back if they don't fall within the size bracket.  The fishermen are supposed to puncture an air sac before throwing them back in so they can sink and swim away.  Apparently this one wasn't so lucky.  Poor guy.

We even found itty bitty squishies that look very similar to some lychee jellies that we like to eat...hmm.
Once again, when did all this growing happen, and how can we possibly stop it, or I'd settle for just slowing it a bit?
I find myself inspired by pattern everywhere and a patient Ryan stops to let me take photos whenever the frame hits my eye.
About 4 summers ago I declared I was going to only collect pink shells.  It's just been this summer the baby dills have stopped hunting for pink shells for me.  Be careful what you tell your children. ;)

I don't think palm trees are the most beautiful, but I loved the sun peaking through this cluster.

We returned to make overnight [yeasted] waffles with orange syrup, raspberries and freshly whipped cream.

  12. I peruse your blog semi-regularly. And, what I find amazing is seeing your face in your children's faces. I've only seen pics of you a few times, but still, I so easily recognize it in the face of your children. Such a beautiful thing. And, also, what a beautiful talent you have in creating! I enjoy your blog. Always good for an aesthetic pick-me-up.

  14. That is so funny what you said about the pink shells. My mom said many many years ago that she liked collecting wheat back pennies, well, 20 some odd years later my sisters and I still save all the wheat back pennies we find and give them to her. She has more than she could ever want. lol Most certainly be careful what you say to kids. lol
