This is the part in the program when I usually give you a sneak peak at my Project Run and Play design, but there have been some photography complications. Oh, yeah, plus I'm still finishing the garment. SO, I thought we'd do a beaded bracelet giveaway, as it's been a while.
I had several beading projects that were in near completion and just clipped a dozen or more threads off last night. The Wave [the blue one] needs a home.
Know of a good one?
I don't recall where I got these vintage blue and white carved glass beads, but I knew it was the perfect closure for this little number. That's one of my favorite parts, picking out the closure bead/button. [Those are 4-year-old Azure hands to gauge the size.]
I also love the matte white 'foam' beads on each side. Be kind to her, will ya?
Shadow of lace, for your wrist to grace.
Just leave a comment, tell me what makes you smile,
and I'll pick a winner Monday!
Gorgeous! Hmmm... I know it's going to be the most widely used answer, but it would have to be our kids. But more specifically as of late, having Claire (our 20 month old), put her hands on either side of my face and planting a big wet one, smack dab on my lips. To be so caring and loving at such a young age always brings a HUGE smile to my face :).
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful are those? What makes me smile?? Brand spankin new clothe and shoes that you are just so excited to wear :)

ReplyDeleteWe've had such awful weather here in Georgia lately. Constant storms or just dark, gray skies all the time...and I don't remember feeling this cold in the 6 years I lived in Colorado. Every few days, we'll see some sunshine peeking through, and today, there's a gorgeous blue sky. Your bracelet reminded me of the sky more than waves right now (though I'm seriously wishing for a warm beach), and that's what's making me smile today.

I LOVE them all and fortuntely for me I don't have a blue one. :) I can't believe you have made so many. I have made two (working on #3) and I keep giving them away. I am going to use my time better and finish a little here and there. I would love to know where you find all your lovely buttons and beads. I can never seem to find one that I just L-O-V-E, you know?
ReplyDeleteOh, and it makes me smile when I finish a project, sit back and look at it...and say "I just made that!" Kind of like running. I love seeing where my own two feet can take me and seeing what I can do with my hands. :)
ReplyDeleteI frequently find myself in a death spiral of negativity, where one bad thing or negative thought occurs and I progressively get more grumpy throughout the day, so recently (about 3 months) I have made a point of saying every good thing I think (I tell people in the grocery store I like their coat if it pops into my head that I like it, I tell people if I think they did a good job, etc. rather then just thinking it and letting it go unsaid) and I smile every time I see a surprised and pleased reaction, because people universally love to be appreciated. (I am a lot less negative myself now too!)
ReplyDeleteWhat's making me smile right now are the fresh strawberries I just got at the farmers market! Soooo good. I bracelet! Crossing my fingers that I win!

He immediately RAN to the cupboard got out a single bag of fruit snacks and asked me to help him wrap them. :)

What makes me smile? The fact that my 10 year old son called me on my to work TWICE to tell me that the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself book activity determined he'd be a millionaire who lived in a mansion on a beach when he grew up. I didn't hear the phone ring, so I returned his call when I realized it.

I know this sounds crazy but my mom has a set of dishes nearly 90 years old that have that same pattern, lacy edges, dark blue in the center then aqua lighter till it is nearly white at the edges. And the edges are open lace! My dad used to complain that his peas fell thru his plate! The second I saw the bracelet that image flashed in my head...thank you for bringing up a fun memory!

ReplyDeleteBesides the silliness of my children, my job makes me smile on a regular basis. I am a first grade teacher and the stories that come out of their mouthes are priceless. The other day a little girl farted in class, she was very embarrassed and I tried to sooth her with the fact that it happens to everyone. A little boy turns and said, yeah, my mom makes a really funny squeaky noise when she farts. Not the topic I wanted to have in our classroom however I couldn't help but smile.

ReplyDeleteWow! These bracelets are gorgeous! One thing that makes me smile is when my two year old daughter puts her baby's in time out. That is always funny. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous! Something that made me smile today - I'm a Texas girl and barbecue has been a big part of my life. However, for some reason, I haven't eaten in a barbecue place in years. I did tonight with my family. As I sat there, it took me a minute to realize why I felt so relaxed. It was the smell of the place - the barbecue smell. It reminded me of many family get togethers, family reunions, weddings. That made me smile.
ReplyDeleteMy kids and husband make me happy.
ReplyDeleteSorry posts hubby's name.
Other than my kids, it would be...
ReplyDeleteA nice summer day with no kids when me and hubby can get out to ride the motorcycle for a little bit, no destination no plans, just out riding and enjoying each other's company.
Oh and just wanted to say I think the orange and blue bracelet would look great with the Fleur D'Orange dress.
Sunny Sundays make me smile. There is nothing better than going to church with your family and enjoying a huge breakfast afterwards!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me smile when my oldest son is as protective of his three younger brothers as his father is. Yesterday's sunshine also made me smile.
