One day is simply not enough to celebrate one's birthday.
But instead of gifts to me, I am giving away a bracelet I just finished:
Double ruffle banded cuff in eggplant and soft slate.
I had to borrow one of Ryan's belts because, would you believe it, I don't own a grey belt? Tsk, tsk.
Vintage glass button closure
To do list:
Giveaway Closed.
*edit* ps in case you were wondering, you won't find these in my etsy shop because it takes many hours to make and I don't work for $.06/hr [although this motherhood thing doesn't pay much either, and I continue with it] but I do have a pattern variation available.
I just adore your beaded ruffle bracelets and am in AWE of the fact that you actually hand make them. Amazing.

ReplyDeletewhat's most delicious (to me) is that draped over the yellow mini chair it looks big enough to be a lovely wrap. One that would airily fan perfectly around your shoulders and face, for an evening at the symphony or sitting in the your garden of cosmos reading.
ReplyDeletehappy happy birthday.
mayhap an adventure of Alice in Wonderland proportions will make it so :O)
A comment with oomph? What pressure! How about a quote that I have recently come to love?
ReplyDelete"A year from now you will wish you had started today"

ReplyDeletehappy birthday thanks for sharing your gift
I have prego brain and therefore no comment with oomph. If I can manage to keep my two girls alive for the next six months, I will consider myself a success. I love looking at your pictures, Happy Birthday, and oh yeah, pick me. =)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bracelet, such beautiful colors. I love the family dinner pictures, thanks for sharing. Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how can I win a chance to become part of the family?!
I broke up with gum when I got pregnant earlier this year. Are you a gum chewer? Historically I always had a pack of gum handy but something about being pregnant made the taste of fake sweeteners absolutely disgusting so I turned my back on gum. I'm slowly returning to my old friend but only in the flavor of bubblemint.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday (belated). I am expecting child #5 and would love to have something like that to help me feel feminine instead of just blimpy. I'm starting to feel that way, and I'm only 24 weeks along.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!

ReplyDeletehappy birthday to you
I am just weaning my youngest and I am trying to get back in shape after being pregnant or nursing for almost six years straight. A bracelet such as the one you made would help me to feel elegant again!! I don't know if I have any chance of being able to make one for myself, but I tried to buy your tutorial on Etsy and it didn't work for some reason. Thanks for all your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI read "oomph" and immediatly thought of oompa loompas. I've got them on the brain these days...planning my kiddo's Willy Wonka-themed birthday...
Hope you had a great day and were appropriately spoiled : )
Happy birthday to you! I absolutly adore this bracelet and appreciate the time and talent that went into it. If there is one thing my hubby constantly reminds me about when I think of selling my items, is "your time is worth something". Such a hard thing to remember when you are a mom and you work for free! I don't know how you find the time to raise 5 beautiful daughters, take such amazing pictures and make such amazing things. You rock...and make the rest of us feel bad! Hope your birthday is the best yet!
ReplyDeleteI have never ever seen a bracelet like this before. It is GORGEOUS!!! This is my first time to your site and I am hooked. I would LOVE this bracelet and I can imagine the outfit I would wear with it now...HUBBA HUBBA!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteMaybe in all your free time - wink, wink - you could teach a sewing camp. I want to have a little bit of that talent :). And a little time away from changing diapers ( of 3 kids ) wouldn't be too bad either. In the mean time, I would love to be sporting that bracelet - while I change those diapers. That would make an unpleasant task better, no?
My birthday was on the 25th. Boo Hoo...how can I be 42? This lovely little piece of art would cheer me up...
ReplyDeleteAnd that would be a signature bracelet I would like to wear!
ReplyDeleteThis bracelet is beautiful! And, you're right - 6 cents an hour doesn't cut it, unless it's for the cause of motherhood. :)
ReplyDeleteoompha loompha doompha dee doomph I've got another puzzle for you. what do you get with a whole bunch of beads, and a nice girl who does many good deeds? Add a creative mind and a whole lot of time, and what do you have? A bracelet that's mine! If you are wise & give to to me, you will feel happy doompha dee dee.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really beautiful bracelet Katy, thanks for doing this giveaway!
I very merry birthday to you. I also don't own a gray belt, but I'd love to own your pretty bracelet.
