I am by myself. I'm referring to my family, the one I've created. But, I've been enjoying every second with my parents and siblings. I forget sometimes that motherhood doesn't define me completely. It is revitalizing to just be a daughter and a sister. All these roles together help me to adapt, grow and metamorphose into a more complete being.
My parents are back from Korea and the husbands so kindly agreed to use their weekends to be home with the 10 out-of-town-grandchildren to give the mom's a few day's break.
tulips, tulips, tulips! everywhere! i love the uprightness of these
brothers ben and jacob have surpassed the father in height, even when they slouch
sl temple
lego-like abodes
lots of chatting and chewing
shopping with the sibs
little boy laughter
It was like Christmas, all the gifts we happened to exchange
Yes, I miss the baby dills, and certainly their father, but spending this weekend with my roots has been reviving. Ashley is preparing to give birth while Ann is in the beginning stages of creating a new one. My parents are beaming with joy to have all their original flock together again, even if for just a few days. Family is good. Even better is the family who makes the effort to support one another.
My precious Katy. So happy you can be a daughter again for a few special days. Kiss all your family for me. I love you all. Enjoy!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI fear your family time will not include hugs and kisses from Glen and Gabe tomorrow :( We are on the beaches of Kauai for a semi-last minute vacation! After all, we will celebrate our 7 years of togetherness while away.
