Dress Design for Shabby Apple Design dresses [2-"Flight"]
The second in my submissions to the Shabby Apple Dare to Design competition. My unique and updated version on the shirt dress. Feminine box pleats along the bottom are integrated into a scene of birds on telephone poles, with a single bird in flight.
Eletricfying. It is subarashi.
ReplyDeleteYou stayed up late to figure this one out!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love your drawings too.
ReplyDeleteoh Katy, I want it so bad. So bad.
ReplyDeleteSo cute Katy! I have a few sketches drawn up for this very same contest but I haven't posted them yet. Yours are fantastic, I would buy and proudly wear both of them.
ReplyDeleteYou do such beautiful work. I loved all your sewing projects.
ReplyDeleteKeep on inspiring us all.
I love those ideas! Fantastic. I adore the skirt you made--it is fun to see it in dress form. If you don't win, something is wrong with the judging.
ReplyDeleteyou've got some major talent! I LOVE your sketches!
ReplyDeleteI keep coming back to this. I LOVE the idea of embroidering it (I'm a sucker for embroidery). Really, I think this is a fabulous idea. It's so whimsical and chic, I think that's a hard combination to master. Kudos.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - Shabby Apple should be so blessed to have your two submissions! I love viewing their dresses, & imagining me in them. I am wishing for you & your dresses!
ReplyDeleteKaty, this is fabulous! You are sure to win.
ReplyDeleteBoth awesome dresses. I particularly love #2. Good luck!!! I hope you win. P.S. The purse you made for your contest is SO adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI discovered your blog from a blog, from a blog, etc! I love your sewing ideas. What inspirations!! I love Shabby Apple and I love your dress designs. You've got my vote...if only I could vote.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds on a wire!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you find out if your piece was selecte?
ReplyDeleteTasha, judging isn't until November.
ReplyDeleteJust happened up on your blog. Sweet dress! I was perusing Shabby Apple the other day and couldn't decide which would look best on my figure. This would look terrific on a thin, tall woman like you. Generally, because I'm thicker in the middle and bustier, I stay away from the shirt dress. But I think your collar is brilliant and would be wearable for even me (taking the eye up with a lower neckline).
ReplyDeleteGreat pleats, too.
wowzers, this is an old post but I am just finding it--thank goodness for linkwithin! you're a jaw-dropper, lady.
