I've learned over and over, sometimes it's all about the editing. For example? In theory, these two fabrics were cute together. In execution, it was just TOO MUCH. I don't know that I'll even finish the shirt, despite all the work. Divine does love the cupcake skirt. Good for twirling and such girly things.
I would like to see them together! That is a cute shirt!
ReplyDeleteI think they would be fun together, especially using the cupcake material for accents such as patch pockets on the shirt from the cupcake fab.
ReplyDeleteI think they are great together, that shirt needs that skirt! Finisih it.
ReplyDeleteYou all think they should stay together?
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps it could be another give-away item ;). Either way, I agree that it should be finished and treasured!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a lot. But, you're right, they SHOULD be able to go together. I support your decision to edit.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on Divine's mood. If she's feeling hippie, funky she can wear them together. If she's feeling more low-key, she can edit. What does she think?
ReplyDeleteHeather, you are so right about letting Divine choose. I just like to have the control. She is 8. I'll finish the shirt and maybe she can wear it with some jeans or something.
ReplyDeleteBrookeanne, I'll consider a giveaway, but if only 3 people enter I'll just feel sad. Let me think of something to make....
It might be about cut to. Since both are loose and flowy, the volume is what might be too much. If one piece is fitted and the other is flowy, the busy-ness of the pattern might not bother so much.
ReplyDeleteYou are so close to finishing the shirt. I agree she doesn't have to wear it with that skirt. I am loving all of your sewing project posts. You'll need to check out my blog soon. I am planning on having quite a few sewing projects on there.
