I'm sorry, but you won't find this available at Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table. I am the 4th generation to use this pancake turner, and although I can't leave any water on it or it rusts and it certainly can't go through the dishwasher, they simply don't make them like this anymore. This is so thin that it will even easily slid under, without squishing up like a gathered handkerchief, lace cookies. Originally used by the hands of Pearl Estella Burch (aka Mom Burch, my paternal great-grandmother and Pearl's name sake), I feel honored to have this in my kitchen collection.
Yes, it is true. They do not make them like that anymore. I love holding things that were used by someone else, like my grandmother's lapel watch. What is it about that?
