Southern Snow to Sunshine State
I can count on one hand the number of days it snowed in Dallas while we lived there--one in which Pearl happened to be born, in the car (that's another story)--but we were blessed with one more day of it before we made the move to the Sunshine state. I love the brilliant green blades beneath the bright blanket of white. We are officially Floridians now, though. Moving here certainly wasn't in the plans. I'm reluctantly realizing that is how life usually unfolds. I don't think I know anyone who actually follows the planned path. Life would be rather boring, I suppose if it did. Pearl expressed concern about letting new people move into our old house. She didn't want them sleeping in her bed and using her blankie. What a sweetie. Divine was excited about getting a new house because our other one was OLD. Olive doesn't care where she is, she can cause chaos in any environment. As for the rest of us, we're just glad to be together as a family!

I know how you feel, it seems like we find out the next destination just a few months before we are to uproot and unestablish. Then, it takes at least a year for ME to feel "at home" after rooting and establishing in new ground. Any state is that much richer for having Ryan and his 5 girls as its residents! What a fabulous picture (good for a change of address card!--no pressure).
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jordan's change of address card - it really is the perfect picture.
ReplyDeleteI too feel it takes a while to feel established in a new place. I have a dear friend that just moved with her family to Jacksonville from here and she just loves it. Do you know Karla Frye?
HOW FUNNY, INGRID! I met Karla TODAY! We swapped phone numbers so we can get the kiddos together. She taught Sunday school today and did a fabulous job. Small world. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI miss Karla and her family. She really is a gem and I am just amazed with her mothering skills especially with having twins! And yes, she is an AMAZING teacher. She's a legend in the MTC teaching world...
ReplyDeleteConnections! Connections! Love it!
